UGC NET December 2025 registrations will close on November 7 (Express Photo by Praveen Khanna/ representational image)The National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued an advisory reminding candidates of the upcoming application deadline for the UGC NET December 2025 exam. According to the notice, the registration portal for the UGC National Eligibility Test (NET) will close on November 7 at 11:50 pm. The advisory comes as the section of aspirants eligible for Assistant Professor roles, Junior Research Fellowships (JRF), and PhD admissions prepare to apply via the official portal at ugcnet.nta.nic.in.
Subsequently, only those candidates who have filled and submitted the online application form for the UGC NET December 2025 session and paid the prescribed examination fee, and have downloaded the confirmation page, will be considered duly registered.

As per the NTA’s timeline for the December cycle, online submission of applications opened on October 7 and will remain available until November 7. Further, as per earlier NTA notifications, the computer-based exam is scheduled across 85 subjects between December 31, 2025 to January 7, 2026.

The advisory also reiterates that “only candidates who have successfully paid the fee will be considered as having completed the application process” and that “no change shall be permitted later” once the fee is paid.
According to the notice, aspirants are also being urged to ensure their key documents, such as Aadhaar and UDID (for persons with disabilities), reflect accurate information to avoid later discrepancies. Of these, the board had earlier confirmed that the correction window for the cycle is slated for 10 – 12 November 2025.
Candidates who still have not completed the process are advised to log in and finalise submission well before the deadline. To apply, they must register online, fill in personal and academic details, upload required documents, pay the fee, and download the confirmation page for record-keeping. Only then will their application be accepted under the guidelines set by the NTA notice.
