UGC NET Result June 2025: The National Testing Agency (NTA) on July 21, Monday, announced the results for the UGC NET June session 2025 Candidates can access their results on the official NTA website at ugcnet.nta.ac.in. This year, the June session was held between June 25 and 29. The results were scheduled to be release on Tuesday; however, the Agency issued the results one day before.

To check the UGC NET results June 2025, students will have to visit the official website of NTA UGC NET at ugcnet.nta.ac.in. Click on the ‘UGC NET June 2025 scorecard’ link on the homepage. Enter your login credentials, such as application number and password, for login. View your result on the screen. Download and print the scorecard for future reference.
There will be no re-evaluation or rechecking of the UGC NET results. The UGC NET result for June 2025 will be compiled based on the final answer key that is released. Records related to the UGC will be retained for up to 90 days from the date of the announcement of the NET results.
The UGC NET is conducted twice a year, in June and December, to facilitate the appointment of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), Assistant Professorships, and admissions to PhD programmes.

a) For multi-shift papers, raw marks obtained by the candidates in different shifts/sessions will be converted to NTA Score (percentile).
b) The detailed procedure on NTA Score being adopted is available on NTA website under Normalization procedure based on Percentile Score.
c) In case a subject test is conducted in multi-shifts, NTA Score will be calculated corresponding to the raw marks obtained by a candidate. The calculated NTA Score for the Raw Marks for all the shifts/sessions will be merged for further processing for deciding the allocation.
d) In the events of the percentiles for the multi-shifts being dissimilar / unequal, the lowest will be the eligibility cut-off for that category for all candidates (i.e. all shifts).
The data of UGC NET candidates can be shared by the UGC/NTA with Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs) for admission to PhD programmes and with Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) and other organisations for their recruitment processes.
The JRF – qualified candidates are admitted into the Ph.D. programme based on an interview as per the UGC (Minimum Standards and Procedures for Award of Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2022.
- UGC NET under category-2 & category-3 can be used as an entrance test for Ph.D. admission in place of entrance tests conducted by the different universities/HEIs for admission to PhD
- For candidates qualified under the category-2 and category-3, the marks obtained in the NET will have 70 per cent weightage and 30% weightage will be based on the performance in the interview/viva voce conducted by the University or HEI concerned. The PhD admission will be based on the combined merit of NET marks and the marks obtained in the interview/viva voce.
- For admission to Ph.D., the marks obtained in the NET by the candidates in category-2 and category-3 will be valid for a period of one year from the date of declaration of the result of UGC NET.
Candidates who have qualified for JRF can apply for funded research positions in universities and are also eligible to apply for Assistant Professor roles.
Those who qualified for Assistant Professorship can apply for teaching positions in colleges and universities across India.
Candidates shortlisted under the PhD-only category can proceed to apply for admission to doctoral programmes as per the guidelines of respective institutions.
Candidates are shortlisted based on subject-wise and category-specific cut-off marks. The UGC NET June 2025 cut-off score determines eligibility for:
–Junior Research Fellowship (JRF)
–Assistant Professorship and PhD admission
–PhD admission only
The record of the UGC NET June 2025 result will be preserved for up to 90 days from the date of the result declaration.

Out of the total, 5,269 candidates qualified for both Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and Assistant Professorship, 54,885 qualified for Assistant Professorship and PhD admission, and 1,28,179 candidates qualified for PhD admission only.

The test was held for 85 subjects in 10 shifts and witnessed the registration of 10,19,751 candidates, out of which 5,90,837 were female (57.94%), 4,28,853 male (42.05%), and 61 third-gender candidates.

The objection window for the UGC NET June 2025 provisional answer key was closed on July 8. Candidates were allowed to challenge questions by paying a non-refundable fee of ₹200 per question.
Along with the final results, NTA will release the category-wise and subject-wise cut-off marks for both “Assistant Professor only” and “JRF and Assistant Professor” categories.
