
UPSC CSE Final Result: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has declared the final results of the Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2024 cycle. This year, Shakti Dubey has secured the top rank in the UPSC Civil Services, with Harshita Goyal following in second place. According to the official notification, the recruitment drive aims to fill 1,129 vacancies across various central services, including 180 posts in the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), 55 in the Indian Foreign Service (IFS), and 147 in the Indian Police Service (IPS).

In 2024, the final results for CSE 2023 were declared on April 16 with Aditya Srivastava as the topper. As of now, the Commission has not announced any dates for the results declaration, as aspirants await development, let’s check who were the last year toppers.

A total number of 1,016 candidates were recommended for appointment with top two positions bagged by male candidates. Over one-third of the candidates selected for the civil services are women — 352 of the total 1,016 recommended for appointment, including six of the top ten.
The UPSC CSE exam is held in three phases – prelims, mains and interview. While the UPSC CSE 2023 prelims exam was conducted on May 28, the CSE mains UPSC exam was held from September 15, 2023 for five days. Candidates who cleared the mains were called for the interview round which was conducted between January 4 and April 9.
In the past two years before 2023, women have dominated the top positions with Ishita Kishore securing AIR 1 followed by Garima Lohia, Uma Harathi N and Smriti Mishra in the 2022 result. A year before that, Shruti Sharma had secured all India Rank 1 in the UPSC CSE 2021 exam. In 2021 results, too, all the top three positions were secured by women — Ankita Agarwal had secured AIR 2 and Gamini Singla from Chandigarh got rank 3.
Candidates who score above the cut-off marks will be recruited to the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), Indian Police Service (IPS) and other central services and posts.
