WBCAP 2025 Application: Registration begins for West Bengal UG admissions

No fees will be charged from students for scanning or uploading documents at the designated Bangla Sahayata Kendras via the Centralised Admission Portal. Moreover, eligible applicants will be notified directly by the system via SMS and email at every step of the process.

WBCAP Registration 2025 today at wbcap.in: The West Bengal Higher Education Department has launched the West Bengal Centralised Admission Portal (WBCAP) 2025 for undergraduate admissions. As per the official admission notice, online registration began on June 18. The registration link was made active at 10 am.

Eligible students can submit their applications through any of the following official websites – banglaruchchashiksha.wb.gov.in, wbsche.wb.gov.in, or directly via wbcap.in by clicking on the “Centralised Admission” button. Notably, there is no application fee for the registration process.

In the previous session’s admission cycle, the online portal opened on June 19, following the announcement of higher secondary exam results on May 8. Approximately 4,44,190 students secured admission to 461 colleges across 16 universities

What are the key dates for WBCAP 2025 admissions?

Below are the important dates for Phase 1 of the admission process:

–Registration & Application Start – June 18, 2025 (2 PM)

–Last Date for Application – July 1, 2025

–Merit List & Seat Allotment – July 6, 2025

–Admission Against Seat Allotment – July 6 to 12, 2025

–Seat Allotment for Upgrade Round – July 17, 2025

–Admission in Upgrade Round – July 17 to 20, 2025

–Physical Verification at Institution Level – July 24 to 31, 2025

–Commencement of Classes – August 1, 2025

Which colleges are excluded from the WBCAP system?

The following institutions are not covered under the Centralised Online Admission Portal:

–Presidency University

–Jadavpur University

–Autonomous Colleges

–Minority Educational Institutions/Colleges

–Training Colleges

–Law Colleges/Universities

–Institutions offering courses in Fine Arts, Performing Arts, Crafts, Dance, and Music

–Colleges offering Engineering, Pharmacy, Nursing, and Medical programmes

–Self-financing/Private Colleges

What else has been clarified in the official WBCAP 2025 notification?

Each applicant is allowed to apply for up to 25 programmes or courses across one or more Higher Educational Institutions in the state. Applicants may also set preferences among the selected programmes or institutions.

The entire admission process will be strictly merit-based, and no counselling sessions or document verification at the institution level will be required during the initial admission process.

Physical presence is not required at any stage of the admission process.
