The West Bengal Higher Secondary (HS) third-semester examination results have been announced on October 31. This is the first time that the exams were held under the newly introduced semester system, as confirmed by Chiranjib Bhattacharya, President of the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education (WBCHSE). The Uchha Madhyamik results were declared during a press conference at the council’s office. Students will be able to check their marks online from 2 pm onwards at the official websites — wbchse.wb.gov.in.

WBCHSE Semester 3 HS Result 2025-26: How to check

–An estimated 6,60,000 candidates, with 56.03 per cent being girls, took the exams using OMR sheets. This marks the first semester-based examination for Class 12 students in the state.

–This was the first higher secondary examination held under the newly introduced four-semester system, which divides the Class 12 course into two parts — third and fourth semesters.

–Chiranjib Bhattacharya previously stated that the next semester exams will take place in February, and the overall results from the two-semester evaluation will determine a candidate’s ranking and grade.

–In the new format, the question papers for semesters one and three include multiple-choice questions to promote thinking and reasoning skills. Semesters two and four feature short answer questions (SAQ) and development quotient (DQ) questions to retain writing abilities.

WBCHSE West Bengal HS Class 12th Result 2026

The West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education (WBCHSE) announced the Uchcha Madhyamik board examination results on May 7. Students can access their WB HS scorecards online through the official websites — wbchse.wb.gov.in and wbresults.nic.in.

In the 2025 West Bengal Higher Secondary (WBCHSE) examinations, a total of 4,73,919 students took part. Out of these, 4,30,286 successfully passed, yielding an overall pass percentage of 90.79 per cent. This marks a modest improvement over last year’s pass rate of 90 per cent.
