Vikrant Massey recently appeared on Kaun Banega Crorepati 16, hosted by Amitabh Bachchan, along with IPS officer Manoj Kumar Sharma. Bachchan, here, shared an interesting anecdote about working with Vidhu Vinod Chopra, the director of Vikrant’s 2023 success 12th Fail. Big B is known for his discipline and always reaching early for his shoots.

Bachchan, while discussing his breakthrough film, told Vikrant how filmmaker Vidhu Vinod Chopra is a tough taskmaster. He recalled how Chopra scolded him for being late to set, despite having wrapped up filming at 3 am the previous night. “We were shooting for a film once, and it got very late in the night. We packed up around 3 am. After packing up, he asked me to come to set the next day at 6 am. I was surprised and told him, ‘Are you mad? After packing up so late you want me to come so early tomorrow?'”

“However, I reached the set the next morning at 6.10 am. He scolded me in front of the whole crew, ‘you are ten minutes late!'” Bachchan added.

Vikrant Massey described working with Chopra on 12th Fail as his “best working experience” and praised Chopra’s unique worldview. Massey appreciated the opportunity to film in real locations in New Delhi, surrounded by students preparing for competitive exams, which added to the film’s authenticity. Chopra’s dedication to his craft is evident in his actions, as Massey revealed that when 12th Fail performed better than expected, Chopra rewarded the entire unit with a bonus. This gesture reflects Chopra’s reputation as a supportive director who values his team’s hard work.

Bachchan also praised Vikrant’s powerful portrayal of Manoj Kumar Sharma in the movie 12th Fail, acknowledging Vikrant’s dedication to the role. Vikrant, with over 20 years in the entertainment industry, expressed his excitement to finally meet Amitabh Bachchan in person, saying, “I have spent 20 years in the industry, and this is the first time I am meeting you face-to-face.”
