For megastar Amitabh Bachchan’s fans, the ‘Sunday darshans’ remain the most anticipated day of their week, as thousands of them throng outside Jalsa for Big B’s darshan. Despite his busy schedule and work commitments, the legendary actor has never failed, for years, to dedicate time to his loyal fans as he appears outside his residence in Juhu every Sunday. This Sunday was no exception. On Monday, the Amar Akbar Anthony star, in an emotional note penned on his blog, thanked his fans for this weekly ritual, who have been gathering outside his house just to catch a glimpse for years.
Giving a peek into this customary Sunday meet-and-greet with his fans, Big B shared a series of heart-touching photos on his blog accompanied by a long emotional note, expressing his gratitude for the love he has received from his fans over the decades. “Each day is a scheduled presence of what the next few minutes are to be accomplished, adhered to, to prepare and look ahead… and when it does not occur… the desolation of emptiness and waste… so much so that the soft regularity of the deployed schedule gets avoided because the body and mind do not synchronize with each other… (sic)” wrote the Paa actor.

Reflecting on the excess of everything materialistic that human beings desire—consumption, ambition, behaviour, indulgence, obsession, etc —he underscored that it leads to mental and physical health issues. He stressed the need for striking a balance between sufficiency and excess for sustainability and well-being. “Society must reassess its values, promoting moderation and mindful choices to mitigate the adverse effects of unchecked excess on the environment, economy, and individual lives,” he penned, adding, “and the sudden wonder… ‘do you really need this?’… is it essential to be in the category of material abundance… life shall draw close to its natural end… but the excess shall ever be left behind, unauthored, uncared for, and unused… love forever (sic).”
