Choreographer Ganesh Hegde recalls Shah Rukh Khan’s epic reply to daughter Suhana when she complained about him: ‘He has never…’
Choreographer Ganesh Hegde recently shared an incident involving himself, Shah Rukh Khan and his daughter Suhana Khan, highlighting the star's response to Suhana's complaint about Hegde.
Ganesh Hegde, who has joined forces with SRK as a choreographer in many movies, also worked with Suhana Khan in her debut movie The Archies. (Images: Ganesh Hegde, Srkuniverse/Instagram)Shah Rukh Khan’s ability to be spontaneously and effortlessly witty and his self-awareness, are two factors that endear him the most to his fans, aside from his talent. Even after reigning as Bollywood’s Baadshah for almost 30 years, he still seldom misses an opportunity to crack jokes, take a swipe at himself, or seamlessly combine both.
Recently, choreographer Ganesh Hegde shared an incident involving himself, Shah Rukh and his daughter Suhana Khan, highlighting the star’s response to Suhana’s complaint about Hegde.
According to Hegde, the incident occurred when the cast of The Archies, marking Suhana’s film debut, was rehearsing their skating moves. Revealing that SRK was part of a few sessions, Hegde told News18, “He came to the rehearsal hall when the actors were practising skating. When he sees something good, he gets very excited and happy and that’s exactly what had happened.”
“When we took a break, he came to me and told me that Suhana was saying that I don’t compliment her. To this, he said to her, ‘Ganesh has never complimented me. Tujhe kya compliment karega (what will he compliment you)’,” Hegde recalled.
Mentioning that he was pleasantly surprised by Suhana’s moves, Hegde said he complimented her by the end of the song’s shoot. “I told her that if I complimented her, she would stop at one 100 per cent and I wanted her to push to 150 per cent. Once the song was over, I told her why I wasn’t praising her earlier. I also told her about the amazing job she did and she was very happy,” Hegde, who choreographed Va Va Voom and Dhishoom Dhishoom tracks in The Archies, said.
“Suhana had a flair for skating. She was more comfortable than the others. It’s her nature also. She gets to it. She’s very much like Shah Rukh bhai. She’s hell-bent on achieving perfection,” he observed.
“She believes in doing something constantly until she gets the hang of it. I didn’t know how good she was on skates until I saw her. She fell before me three to four times and when asked if she needed a break, she said that she would get on with it. She didn’t worry, she was brave and she knew the grind. She doesn’t ever give up. I still don’t know if she had any formal training when it comes to skating but based on whatever I saw, I think she’s a very hard worker,” he added.
Dubbing SRK as his mentor, Hegde noted, “I’ve worked a lot with him and in the process, learned a lot from him too. He always inspires people around him and is a bundle of talent. I’ve been fortunate to have worked with him and I feel happy for making him say a ‘wow’ to the work I did with him.”
Hegde has worked with SRK as a choreographer in Dilwale, Happy New Year, Ra.One, Don – The Chase Begins Again and One 2 Ka 4. Also starring, Agastya Nanda, Mihir Ahuja, Vedang Raina and Khushi Kapoor, Zoya Akhtar’s The Archies is scheduled for release on Netflix on December 7.
