Fire breaks out at Shaan’s residential building in Mumbai, no fatalities reported

A fire broke out in a residential building in Mumbai's Bandra West, where playback singer Shaan resides with his family.

A fire broke out during the early hours of Tuesday at the seventh floor of Fortune Enclave, a residential building in Mumbai’s Bandra West. Playback singer Shaan resides in the same building with his family on the 11th floor. According to reports, Shaan was not at home when the fire erupted in the building. The singer hasn’t released any official statement regarding the incident yet.

While no fatalities have been reported, an 80-year-old woman was admitted to the hospital after experiencing breathing difficulties. She remains in critical condition in the ICU. The fire department received an alert at around 1:45 a.m., prompting the dispatch of 10 fire engines to the scene to control the situation.

News agency ANI shared a video from the incident, showing smoke billowing from one of the windows. Firefighters and fire brigades can be seen at the spot, working diligently to extinguish the flames. Further updates on the incident are awaited.

Shaan, who is considered one of India’s greatest playback singers, was recently in the news for his musical performances. On December 20, he performed at a concert at Phoenix Market City in Whitefield, Bengaluru. Before this, the singer had enthralled audiences in South Africa, with shows in Durban and Johannesburg.

Renowned for his romantic tracks, especially from the 2000s, Shaan has continued to remain active in the music industry. He recently lent his voice to several tracks in the new film Mufasa: The Lion King. Additionally, he has sung songs for various recent films like Maharaj, Chandu Champion, Zero Se Restart, and more.
