Veteran actor Rishi Kapoor can't be cowed down easily and just like the other Kapoors, he has always been open about his thoughts. He recently rejoined Twitter and he, the kind of strongly opinionated person that he is, took to the micro-blogging site to vent his anger at the beef ban imposed by Maharashtra Government. In an interview to Mumbai Mirror, he talked about this and a lot more including his strained relations with superstar son Ranbir Kapoor. Rumour has always had it that Ranbir Kapoor doesn't share a very healthy relationship with his actor father and Rishi Kapoor has further shed light on this sensitive issue. [related-post] He said, "My father gave me space when I moved out after marriage and I give Ranbir his space too when he decided to move out and share a home with his girlfriend. In this house, he had one room: how could that be enough for a 33-year-old boy? He's a great son, he listens to me but I don't interfere in his career because my career is mine and his is his. I know I've screwed up my relationship with Ranbir even though my wife kept telling me about what I was doing. It's now too late to change it; both of us will not be able to adjust to the change. It's like there's this glass wall, we can see each other, we can talk, but that's it. He doesn't live with us anymore, which is also a very big setback to Neetu and me. We're building a new home where there will be a lot of place for him and his family. Till then, life goes on." Rishi Kapoor's unabashed quote on his son and the relationship he shares with him is quite a surprise for till now, the strained relations were talked about in hushed tones only and this is the first time either of the two has come out in open and talked about it. This statement also puts to rest the various speculations regarding Ranbir's love life and that he, indeed, is staying with his girlfriend, who we assume is Katrina Kaif.
