Bollywood playback singer Shaan, on Thursday, the day of Dunki’s release, took to social media to give a clarification on why filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani‘s dropped his duet “Durr Kahi Durr” with Shreya Ghoshal in the Shah Rukh Khan and Taapsee Pannu starrer. Shaan also revealed that he and Shreya recorded the song and it was shot in Kashmir but it didn’t make it on the edit table.
Taking to X, Shaan wrote, “Good Morning !!! Aaj #Dunki Day hai … im super excited!! CAN’T WAIT TO SEE IT !! I’m sure Everyone is Going to love the Movie !!! I just want to clear the air about why my song was not part of the film ..”
While Shaan expressed that it was unfortunate that the song didn’t make it in the final cut, he also said that the Hirani was “very transparent” about this exclusion from the film.
Tagging Shreya Ghoshal, he wrote, “The song, a beautiful breezy duet ( with @shreyaghoshal) “Durr kahi Durr” was recorded and also picturised in Kashmir .. but on the edit table .. it was #RajuHirani ‘s call to drop the song .. (after a lot of contemplation.. ) He was very transparent about it with me.. and I really appreciate that.. and I fully understand that the Film is top priority. Hopefully You will get to hear the Song in His Future Project .. but not in #Dunki .. 🤗❤️🙏.”
Along with Shah Rukh Khan, Dunki also stars Taapsee Pannu and Vicky Kaushal.
