Sudhir Mishra flips classic ‘Devdas’ tale for his “Dasdev”

“I am making a film called ‘Dasdev’ which is a political film set in Uttar Pradesh. For this one, I am playing around Devdas and flipping it a lot. When I was working, Shakespeare sort of entered the film a lot. So it kind of owes it debt to Sarat Chandra and William Shakespeare,” Mishra told PTI.

The “Hazaaron Khwaishien Aisi” director revealed that the movie will have filmmaker Anurag Kashyap in a small role.

The film was earlier titled “Aur Devdas”, but was changed to “Dasdev” as Mishra says, “I was flipping ‘Devdas’ around so I flipped the title too.”

The film has wrapped up its shooting and will release in February or March next year.
