Aamir Khan to play Guru Dutt in a biopic?

A biopic on the legendary Guru Dutt is underway and none-other-than Aamir Khan is likely to play the veteran.

A biopic on the legendary filmmaker Guru Dutt is underway and none-other-than Aamir Khan is likely to play the veteran in the film.

The iconic filmmaker’s son Arun Dutt said that the film’s script in being written by Anurag Kashyap and Aamir has already been approached for the role.

“A script on the life of Guru Dutt and his struggle in the Bollywood decades ago is being written by a famous film maker Anurag Kashyap and director Shivendra Dungarpur,” Arun said.

He was here to inaugurate the 2nd Jaipur International Film Festival (JIFF).

us to provide bound copy of the script. It will take time,” he said.

“In a personal request to the script writer we have asked to be cautious while touching the topic of the relationship between my mother Geeta Dutt,my father and also Wahida Rehmanji,” he said.

Arun also added that Dutt’s work,which includes films like ‘Pyasa’ and ‘Sahib Bibi Aur Gulam’,is under restoration.

Nine such films would be digitised with the latest computer technology under the National Film Archive progamme,Arun said.

To begin with,the restoration work of ‘Sahib Bibi Aur Gulam’ has been taken up,he said.
