Akshay Kumar to woo Sonakshi in ‘Joker’

The film will go on floors in January 2011 and will be released around Christmas the same year.

Akshay Kumar is all set to woo Sonakshi Sinha in Shirish Kunder’s ‘Joker’.

Kunder said he is in the process of finalising his supporting cast.

“The film will go on floors in January 2011 and will be released around Christmas the same year,” the filmmaker said.

Speaking about his latest movie,Kunder wrote on Twitter that ‘Joker’ is a human drama.

“It’s a tale of a bunch of underdogs fighting for victory. There will be humour,some sci-fi and it will be made in 3D,” he said.

‘Joker’ will be Kunder’s second directorial venture after the 2006 movie “Jaan-e-man” starring Akshay,Salman and Preity Zinta.

He has produced ‘Tees Maar Khan’ directed by his wife Farah Khan which is slated for release on December 24. ‘Joker’ is being produced by Akshay Kumar.

Shirish told PTI that ‘Joker’ is a co-production between his production house ‘Three’s Company’ and Akshay’s Hari Om Entertainment.

He said Akshay was the first choice for ‘Joker’.

When asked about speculations over the male lead being Shah Rukh Khan and then John Abraham,he said the confusion was because earlier he was making a superhero film called ‘Joker’.

“This is a completely new script. I have used that title here because it suited it well,” he added.
