India waits for Paris to drop by

From partying with Bollywood stars to a collection launch,Hilton's three-day visit will be high on glamour and glitz.

With Paris Hilton set to arrive in Mumbai on September 24,the frenzy surrounding her visit is building up fast. The American socialite has cut short her Mumbai trip by a day; she will now be in Mumbai only till September 26. “Paris was scheduled to leave for Los Angles on September 27 but now due to some pressing comittments there,she will leave a day sooner,” says a source.

Not surprisingly,her visit is choc-a-bloc with Bollywood meetings,parties and promotions. Designer Rocky S,who will be styling the diva on all three days of her visit,points out an impressive collection of garments from leading Indian designers,including his own creations for her. “Paris was keen on wearing outfits made by Indian designers but that’s not to say that she will necessarily be wearing Indian ethnic wear on all the three days. All I can say is that she and I will go through her final itinerary and decide accordingly,” he says,adding that he and Paris hit it off very well right from the time he met her in LA a couple of months ago.

“I was asked to style for the cover of a fashion magazine and that’s when I got to interact with her. Contrary to popular notions,she is not just some high-flying society person; she’s a smart businesswoman more than anything else. She knows the Indian market and she had even read up on my work,” recalls Rocky,who is also looking forward to the lavish party that’s being hosted in her honour at the JW Marriott on September 24. “I have invited John (Abraham),Amisha Patel and many other friends to the do,” he says,refusing to divulge any more.

According to other sources,Paris will also be staying at the JW Marriott hotel. This is where socialite Kaajal Anand and jewellery designer Queenie Singh are hosting a party for her. Given the combined clout of Kaajal and Queenie,the party is expected to be attended by the Who’s Who of Bollywood–including Karan Johar despite rumours that he has turned down a request to have Paris as a guest on his talk show.

The launch of her label promises to be a big affair. On September 25,fans and fashion enthusiasts will get the chance to meet her as she unveils the much-awaited collection of handbags and accessories at Inorbit Mall,Malad. She will also meet the winner of ‘The Biggest Fan’,a contest launched by Brand Concepts in a social media strategy to bring Paris Hilton’s fans closer to her.
