Kolkata will always be a part of me: Amitabh Bachchan

“Whenever I have the opportunity to come back to this city I feel the great joy of reliving so many memories… the days when I first came to the city to look for a job out of college. Someone told me you will get a decent job in Kolkata. And I landed my first job… got the first ever salary in my life… Kolkata will forever be a part of me,” Bachchan told a Bengali channel.

Bachchan’s first job was in Shaw Wallace and he later worked for a shipping firm called Bird and Co before making his debut in ‘Saat Hindustani’ in 1969. In 1973,he got his first hit ‘Zanzeer’ which also established his ‘angry young man’ image. He met his future wife Jaya Bhaduri while working on the film.
