Jeremy Renner accused of ‘domestic violence’, sending explicit images to Chinese filmmaker Yi Zhou; actor’s team denies allegations

Chinese filmmaker Yi Zhou has accused Hollywood actor Jeremy Renner of “domestic violence”, sending sexually explicit pictures and orchestrating a “smear campaign” against her. She also claimed that when she confronted Renner about the same, he allegedly threatened to report her to ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement). Yi Zhou has shared screenshots of many of her conversations on social media in an attempt to provide proof to support her allegations. Renner is best known for appearing in Avengers films.

Yi Zhou claimed that Jeremy “talked me into having a relationship with him sold me his love” which is why she did not speak up about the “unsolicited pornographic” images she recieved at first. In one of the posts, she said that her “love and respect” was not reciprocated, and that Jeremy started a “smear campaign” against her when she started speaking up. A representative of Renner has denied the allegations against him and said, “The allegations being made are totally inaccurate and untrue.”

short article insert Zhou and Renner’s collaboration began after they started working on the documentary Master of Cinema 2: Chronicles of Disney and the animated film Stardust Future: Stars and Scars earlier this year. Zhou claimed that she invited Renner to be a part of these projects after her introduced himself to her.

In another one of the screenshots where Zhou is allegedly talking to one of her friends, she said that she had locked herslf inside the bathroom after Jeremy “yelled” at her for 2 hours. She also claimed that he was “violent” and she was “worried” for her safety. Zhou has been sharing multiple pictures of Renner in his house to prove that they were, in fact, dating each other.

Previously, in a post shared on Instagram, it was implied that the two were in a relationship. Zhou shared a picture of the two of them in a car and captioned it, “I didn’t know anything about Jeremy until I met him in 2025. Not his past, not his present, not his future, only the person standing before me. What I’ve learned since then is simple but profound: love heals.”

After she shared her allegations, multiple women have allegedly opened up to Zhou and claimed that they have seen Renner behaving in the same fashion with them. The names of these women have not been declared, and these women are yet to come out and confirm the story independently. One of the women wrote, “You are not alone. He did the same things to me. He claimed he was a changed person after the accident.”

Zhou shared another screenshot where she claimed that Renner was threatening her with calling immigration. As per the screenshot, she texted, “No one said anything. So far.” The text bubble on the other side read, “Immigration will be notified of your…’ and the screenshot cuts off there.

Renner has been accused of violent behaviour in the past as well by his ex-wife Sonni Pacheco. The two got married in 2014, and Sonni filed for divorce just 10 months later. Renner has denied his ex-wife’s allegations on several occasions, and the two share joint custody of their daughter.
