India’s most expensive film ‘Baahubali’ in Telugu directed by S S Rajamouli, who is known to deliver hits, will hit 4,000 screens across AP and Telangana, and others states on Friday. The much-anticipated blockbuster starring two popular young stars—Prabhas Raju and Rana Daggubatti as warring brothers in an ancient kingdom- has delighted fans lining up outside theatres for hours together to book tickets in advance. The much-awaited film, the first part `Bahubali:the beginning’ will be released Friday, is multi-lingual and will also be released in Tamil and Hindi and Malayalam on Friday. The second part will be released later next year.
Since Tuesday night, crazy fans have been lining up outside cinema theatres across the two states hoping to book tickets in advance. All the shows were booked at Prasad’s Imax in Hyderabad, and across theatres in the two Telugu-speaking states forcing managements to shut booking stalls. Prasad’s Imax which has six screens and 30 shows, with a seating capacity of over 2,200 was booked within an hour of opening counters for advance booking. Police had to be posted at several places to control the crowds while disappointed fans fought with cinema theatre staff when they could not book tickets. “Some are selling in black, Rs 500 to Rs 1500 per ticket. I have never seen such frenzy for any film,’’ says a disappointed fan Chaitanya Kumar. There are huge expectations as director Rajamouli has delivered nine hits in a row and this is his tenth film. Nearly two years in the making, the battle scenes and the epic sets were created at Ramoji Film City.
