Rahasya, which has been stuck in a litigation trial for over a year will finally release on January 30, 2015. The film-makers are still fighting the case, but are confident that they will be able to release the film. Based on the murder of a 18 year old girl, Ayesha Mahajan (Sakshi Sem) in her house, the film has Ashish Vidyarthi reprise the role of Sachin Mahajan, the victim’s father and one of the prime suspects in the murder case. Kay Kay Menon plays the CBI chief, while Tisca Chopra is Ayesha’s murder.

Talking about the making of the film, director Manih Gupta says, “The shooting was smooth, but I have been troubled with the court proceedings. Contrary to reports, the film is not at all about Aarushi Talwar murder case. Doubts will be cleared once the film releases. There are a few similarities, but it’s not about Aarushi for sure. It was great working with Kay Kay Menon, as we were always locked in creative fights. We are two individuals with strong beliefs, so we would argue with each other over the script and whether a particular scene needed to be changed or shot in a different manner.”

The film ends with Sachin Mahajan being killed by the person who murdered Ayesha.
