After the success of The Xposé, composer-actor Himesh Reshammiya’s company HR Musik has confirmed that the sequel to the film will hit the screens on May 29, 2015. The film will be set in the ’70s era when several girls committed suicide for the then reigning superstar Rajesh Khanna when he decided to get married. The film will show how one girl was actually murdered in the name of suicide. Reshammiya will reprise the role of Ravi Kumar, who will be seen solving the mystery. Plans are on to rope in an A-list actor in a special appearance, who will be seen playing Khanna. The rest of the cast will include four supporting artists and two heroines. Reshammiya says, “The quirkiness in my character, Ravi Kumar’s dialogues were the highlight of the film. The sequel, which will also be produced by my dad Vipin Reshammiya, will be a musical thriller, with grand visuals, but with a tight and well-chalked out budget. The film will explore the stunning truth about Bollywood in the ’70s.”
While it was earlier believed that Anant Mahadevan, director of the first film, will helm the sequel, it looks like all is not well and he might be replaced. “There are some differences between HR Musik and Ananth Mahadevan, especially on his price. Mahadevan wants a price hike. We are trying to solve the issue and see if it works out with him or not. Otherwise, a new director will be announced by next month,” stated creative producer Rakesh Upadhyay.
The first schedule of the film will kick off on December 7 in India and the makers are trying to wrap up the entire project by February 7, 2015. It will be a non-stop shooting schedule for 50 days. The company has also locked a date for the music launch, which will be on April 3, 2015.
