The first look and theatrical trailer of debutant director Shashank Khaitan’s Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania was finally released last week at PVR Juhu. Set in Punjab, the love story has Varun Dhwan playing a cricket fan, Rakesh aka Humpty Sharrma, who confesses that he got the name Humpty, since he was a plump kid. Actress Alia Bhatt, who will be seen sharing

screen space with Dhawan for the second time, plays Kavya Pratap Singh, a big Kareena Kapoor Khan fan, who enjoys life to the fullest. The romantic-comedy has glimpses of popular romantic films like Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge, Kuch Kuch Hota Hain, Jab We Met among others. In fact, the poster of the film has the DDLJ look, that is tweaked a bit and instead, shows the female lead lifting the actor.

Produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions, Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania releases on July 11.
