Kapil Sharma heaps praises on Kiku Sharda, jokes about his jail time: ‘Inki power itni hai…’

Actor-comedian Kapil Sharma is all set to return to the small screen with a comedy show titled The Great Indian Kapil Show. The show will also feature Sunil Grover, Krishna Abhishek, Rajiv Thakur, Kiku Sharda and Archana Puran Singh. In a recent interaction, along with the cast, Kapil praised Kiku for his improvisation and in the same breath also quipped about the time the actor went to jail.

Kapil said, “Kiku bhai ke saath Comedy Circus ke time se hum jaante hai aur bade pyaare hai. Inke paas jo script hoti hai, wo to hai hi lekin ye usme apna kuch na kuch aisa magic daal dete hai, aur itna cutely karte hai ki mujhe nahi lagta ki stage pe kabhi koi hurt hua ho ya naraaz hua ho. (Have known the lovely Kiku from the time of Comedy Circus. Whatever script he gets, he does that but also adds his magic to it. No one has ever been hurt or angry on stage because of him).”

He added, “Haan ek baar jail gaye the ye par aap inki power dekhiye. Jiski wajeh se jail gaye, baad mein inhone unko bhej diya (Once he went to jail but look at his power, he eventually sent that person to jail).”

Kapil Sharma immediately bit his tongue after cracking the joke and requested the portion to be cut from the footage. In 2016, Kiku Sharda was arrested for mimicking Dera Sacha Sauda chief Baba Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh in a Kapil Sharma Show episode.

Kapil also spoke highly about Krushna Abhishek, who has been part of his show for a long time.

The comedian said, “Krushna has been an old friend of mine. He has a madness. Sometimes the script is good and sometimes its not that good but no matter what kind of script Krushna got, he worked hard and added his own madness to it. Sometimes he comes on stage and does things that we also don’t know about.”

The Great Indian Kapil Show will premiere this Saturday on Netflix.
