Aadhaar Card Free Update 2025: The Aadhaar card, a 12-digit unique identity number that serves as proof of identity and residence, has become an essential government-issued document in recent years.

The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) suggests that users revalidate their Aadhaar cards every ten years, as some Aadhaar cards were issued over a decade ago.

The Aadhaar cardholders are required to update their proof of identification and address documents every ten years from their enrollment date.

The same is applied to updating a child’s biometric details on their Blue Aadhaar card between the ages of 5 and 15, as per the Aadhaar Enrolment and Update Regulations, 2016.

The government is now encouraging all cardholders to update their details and biometrics. As part of the plan, the Indian government has recently extended the deadline of June 14, 2025, for Aadhaar cardholders to update, which formerly cost a minimal fee of Rs 50; now it is free for an entire year till 14 June, 2026.

Furthermore, the website may only be used to update their proofs of identification and residence. This implies that customers who wish to change their biometrics, name, image, or mobile phone number will need to go to their nearest UIDAI-authorised location.
