On the day when Hazaribagh Lok Sabha constituency voted to elect its Member of Parliament(MP), the state Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) issued a show cause to former MP Jayant Sinha for not taking any ‘interest’ in election campaigning or organisational work. State General Secretary and Rajya Sabha MP Aditya Sahu wrote to Sinha stating that the image of the party has been tarnished with his actions and demanded a reply within two days.

Jayant Sinha was denied a ticket to contest the Lok Sabha elections from Hazaribagh instead BJP fielded MLA Manish Jaiswal from the seat.

The letter by Aditya Sahu dated May 20 stated: “Ever since the party has declared Manish Jaiswal as its candidate from Hazaribagh, you are neither taking interest in election campaigning nor in organisational work. Despite this, you did not consider it appropriate to exercise your right to vote in this great festival of democracy. The image of the party has been tarnished by this attitude of yours. As per the instructions of State President Shri Babulal Marandi, you are requested to give clarification in this regard within two days.”
