Officials of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) today unearthed disproportionate assets worth over Rs two crore belonging to an executive engineer working in Rayalaseema Thermal Power Project in Kadapa district of Andhra Pradesh.
The ACB personnel conducted searches at office and residence of P Venkata Ramaiah,Executive Enigneer (Civil) and found that he was in possession of disproportionate assets,according to an ACB release here.
The assets include four and three-storied commercial complexes in Nellore district besides eight house sites and 12 acres of land in Satyavedu mandal of Chittoor district.
The sleuths of ACB also conducted surprise checks on two BC welfare hostels for boys in Srikakulam district.
During the searches it was found that hostel authorities have indulged in various irregularties like non-compliance to the menu of food and variation in stock of provisions meant for the hostel students.
It was found that at Kanchili village boys hostel,there were only 117 students present as against the actual strength of 192 students as per records in the hostel.
In another BC hostel at Kummaripeta,there were only 90 students present when ACB officials conducted surprise check as against 156 students in records,the release said adding that action would be initiated against the officials after further inquiry.
