Seven government officials were found to possess assets and properties worth over Rs seven crore disproportionate to their known sources of income,by Lokayukta sleuths during raids conducted at their offices and residences on Tuesday.
“Seven government officials were found in possession of assets and properties worth Rs 7,04,51,064,disproportionate to their known sources of income during the raids,”,Karnataka Lokayukta Santosh Hegde told reporters.
Deputy Commissioner of Excise(Bidar),Asad Ali,was found to possess properties worth Rs 1.68 crore including 26 acres of land in a village in Gulbarga in his wife’s name,two two-storied buildings and school building in
Basavareddy V Lingadal,Police Inspector,Kittur circle with an annual income of Rs 27 lakh was found to possess properties worth Rs 1.39 crore including a two-storey residential house,a 17 room-apartment,seven sites in Dharwad and lands in Mullur and Naragund taluks besides gold and silver worth over Rs 2.2 lakh. He joined service as PSI in 1981.
Shaik Samiulla Sherief,Assistant Labour Commissioner,Mysore with an annual income of Rs 40 lakh was found to possess assets and properties worth Rs 1.10 crore,Hegde said.
