Mutt seers come under public scanner

Complaint says seers of Adichunchunageri mutt submit forged documents to get land.

After politicians,it is now the turn of mutt seers to come under the public scanner,with a private complaint being lodged against the seers of Adichunchunageri mutt in the Lokayukta court today.

The complaint against Adichunchanageri mutt head,Balagangadhara Swami and 24 others,including government officials,accused them of getting property to the extent of 16 acres and one gunta (a gunta is 1/40 of an acre),granted to a temple trust,transferred in the mutt’s name for establishing an international school by submitting forged documents.

The complaint alleged that Balagangadhara,Prashantha swami,Purushottama Nandanatha swami and Sunil Babu,trustee of the mutt,in connivance with government officials had violated the grant conditions and started BGS International School on the land,by submitting fabricated documents.

The Lokayukta court judge has posted the complaint filed by former corporator Lakshminarayana to May 29 for orders on probe.
