Decomposed male body found hanging from tree in JNU

The police have reached the spot and are carrying out further investigations.

The decomposed body of a 40-year-old man was found hanging from a tree in forest area in Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) in New Delhi. Police said the deceased has been identified as Rampravesh, a driver by profession and a resident of Najafgarh area in Delhi. He is suspected to have committed suicide around six-seven days ago.

Police said that a PCR on duty got a call around 5.45 pm about a body found hanging near Nelson Mandela Road in the JNU forest area. A mobile phone, an Aadhaar card, a voter ID card, a driving licence and a driver’s badge were recovered from the deceased’s clothes. The body has been sent to AIIMS mortuary.
