Narendra Modi inaugurates e-library for lawyers

E-library is a major weapon to attain qualitative change in grievance redressal system: Modi

Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated an e-library for lawyers which will make various judgements of high courts and Supreme Court accessible to lawyers and others.

Inaugurating the e-library at a function organised by Bar Council of Gujarat(BCG) and the state government,Modi said e-library was a major weapon to attain qualitative change in grievance redressal system and a powerful force of democracy.

Chairman of BCG Dilip Patel said the e-library inaugurated today was the first of its kind in the country which has made more than 7 lakhs judgements from Supreme Court and various High Courts accessible through specially designed software.

State Government had provided Rs 2.22 crore for the logistics needed for the project,which includes PCs,printers,power back-ups installed in all offices of taluka level bar associations to access judgements and various law books.
