The Congress Friday said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s assertion in London that intolerance will not be tolerated smacked of “hypocrisy”.

Senior Congress leader Anand Sharma said Modi had been embarrassing India by repeatedly saying on foreign soil that India’s credibility has been restored. “India’s image has been tarnished… because of forces which have been unleashed and which have been given protection and endorsement by the PM,” he said. “The PM neither condemned, nor acted on a number of incidents… He has been a tacit endorser.”
