Responding to a question on a tunnel originating from Pakistan towards Samba Sector,Alam said there was ‘no infiltration’ from Pakistan. However,he said the matter should be probed. He added that it was unfortunate that Deputy Attorney General Khurshid Khan was sacked for doing service at gurdwaras.

Meanwhile,Hind-Pak Dosti Manch spokesperson Satnam Singh Manak said veteran journalist Kuldip Nayar would not be able to make it to the mela, this time. “Nayar has cited his wife’s ill health as the reason for not attending,” Manak said.

Nayar has been under the scanner for upsetting Sikh sentiments through his remarks in his autobiography. Radical Sikh organisations at a meeting in Amritsar had also warned to oppose Nayar’s entry into Punjab,in case he failed to address the concerns raised by them regarding his remarks.
