4-yr-old sexually assaulted by bus attendant in Pune

Three rapes reported in three days in the city.

A four-year-old student of a primary school in Pune was allegedly sexually assaulted by an attendant on the school bus. Police have arrested the attendant and the driver of the bus in connection with the incident that took place Friday.

According to the Deccan Gymkhana police, the incident came to light on Friday when the girl told her parents that the attendant had harmed her.

“The parents first approached the school authorities Saturday and told the principal that they suspected their daughter had been sexually assaulted and that they would take her to a gynaecologist for medical examination. On Monday morning, they went to the school and told the principal that their daughter was sexually assaulted according to the findings of the medical examination,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police M B Tambade.

The incident was then reported to the police after the principal reported the matter to the director of the institute. The police then arrested the suspects who are 22 and 28 years of age. Police are verifying whether the girl was assaulted by the attendant in the past.

Girl raped by guard in crematorium

Pune: A 19-year-old student was allegedly raped by the security guard of a crematorium in Wadgaon Sheri Sunday evening. The girl lodged a complaint at Yerawada police station based on which Dhananjay Namdev Rokde (29), was arrested.

15-year-old raped by four youths

PUNE: Warje police have booked four youths, including two minor boys, for allegedly raping a 15-year-old girl from Saturday evening to Sunday morning. Police said the victim is a student of Class IX at a local school and knows all the suspects. ens
