Maharashtra Government has said five per cent reservation would be given to the children of ex-defence personnel for admissions in medical colleges run by municipal corporations.
A decision to this effect was taken at a meeting yesterday chaired by Minister for Ex-Defence Personnel Welfare Mohammed Arif Naseem Khan.
He said a 1984 G.R already exists where five per cent reservation is given to children of ex-defence personnel for admissions to medical colleges.
“But,it had no mention of medical colleges run by municipal corporations,” he said.
Khan said with this decision, the government has fulfilled the long pending demand of social activists and former defence personnel.
