Army thanks locals in J-K for tremendous support

At Kishtwar,the GOC also visited an orphanage constructed by army under and distributed books,study materials and sweets to the children there.

The army on Wednesday thanked the administration and locals for the tremendous support to the security forces in their efforts to bring peace in the region and tackle terrorism.

“I express my gratitude to the civil administration as well as the local populace for their tremendous support to the security forces in the ongoing mission of eliminating terrorism and bringing peace and tranquility in the region,General Officer Commanding (GOC),16 Corps,Lt General Jai Prakash Nehra said.

He was interacting with prominent personalities,civil dignitaries and ex-servicemen during a visit to the Bhaderwah and Kishtwar areas on Wednesday.

The GOC also presented a wheelchair to a resident of Keshwan village in Kishtwar which was procured by the army as a part of Operation Sadbhavana.

He also visited the Youth Employment and Guidance Node (YEGN) and appreciated the efforts taken by the army in the establishment of YEGN and appreciated the active participation and enthusiasm of children of Kishtwar.
