ROHTAK: The Rohtak police on Sunday arrested four people,allegedly belonging to a gang of thieves,involved in stealing oil from the HPCLs Bahadurgarh-Ludhiana pipeline. According to police,the accused have confessed to having already stolen and sold over 27,000 litres of oil from the pipeline.Naresh,Satbir,Virender and Vijay will now be produced in court on Monday.
Haryana drafts HCS rules,seeks comments
CHANDIGARH: The Haryana Finance Department has prepared subject-wise new draft Haryana Civil Services Rules in place of existing Punjab Civil Services Rules applicable to Haryana Government Employees. Stating this here on Sunday,a spokesman of the Finance Department said that the soft copy of these draft rules has been made available at the websites: http://www.finhry.gov.in and http://www.haryanagov.in. He sought comments from concerned readers,officials and experts before July 16 so that they can be considered before the rules are finalised.
Rakhra village elects sarpanch unanimously
CHANDIGARH: Leading by example,Punjab Rural Development and Panchayat Minister Surjit Singh Rakhras native village has unanimously elected the sarpanch and other members of the panchayat. Rakhra had called upon people in rural areas to ensure a maximum number of unanimously elected panchayats. In his village,Nachatar Kaur was elected sarpanch while Charanjit Kaur,Jaswinder Singh,Raj Kumar,Dwarka,Harinder Kaur,Bheem Singh and Tarlochan Singh are the other members.
Pay kin of pharmacist who killed self: Bajwa
CHANDIGARH: Punjab Congress president Partap Singh Bajwa on Sunday met a deputation of Punjab Unemployed Veterinary Pharmacists Association and expressed shock at one of their colleagues,who was at the forefront of their cause,having committed suicide. Bajwa extended full support to the cause of Unemployed Veterinary Pharmacists and said that the sacrifice made by Jaswinder Singh a resident of Bathinda would not go in vain. It was ironical that neither Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal or Bathinda MP Harsimrat Kaur Badal took notice of the suicide. The unemployed veterinary pharmacists were agitating since long but SAD-BJP government has not listened to their demands, he said before demanding a compensation of Rs 25 lakh and job for the wife of deceased pharmacist.
