CPM leader’s son booked for comment on Facebook

RSS worker E Manoj was hacked to death on Monday. He was one of the accused in the murder attempt on Jayarajan in 1999.

Kerala police on Thursday registered a case against senior CPI (M) leader P Jayarajan’s son Jain Raj under IT Act for his comment in facebook about the murder of RSS worker.

Kathirur police in Kannur district said the case was registered under section 66 A of IT (amended) Act of 2008.

RSS worker E Manoj was hacked to death on Monday. He was one of the accused in the murder attempt on Jayarajan in 1999. Soon after Manoj was murdered, Raj, now living in Dubai, commented on his facebook page “how long waiting for this happy news. Salute comrades…feeling excited.”

Later, it was deleted. But, in another post, Raj justified his earlier comment. “The screen shot, saluting the comrades, had come under criticism. The Sangh Parivar wants to burn me alive. Others want to teach me discipline. They should understand that I am also a son. When I hear that the person who drenched my childhood in blood…the person who paralyzed my father… the person who chopped our Surendran into pieces is laying on the street, the son in me would definitely rejoice.”

Reacting to the case, Communist veteran and Opposition leader V S Achuthanandan said it was quite natural that police would probe into the murder case.
