Jalandhar additional SHO thrashed,humiliated for ‘immoral’ activity

The SHO was placed under suspension Saturday.

The SHO had been reinstated to duty just four days back,after being placed on suspension four months ago for similar reasons. At the time,Dharamvir’s wife alleged that the SHO had an extra-marital affair and had gotten illegally married to his ‘girlfriend’. In the previous incident,the SHO and his woman friend were beaten up by Dharamvir’s wife and sister.

In Friday’s incident,people of Bhargo Camp saw SHO Dharamvir – in his police uniform – enter his ‘girlfriend’ house.

An eyewitness said that the people then raised an alarm and gathered outside the house of the woman and termed the SHO’s behavior as highly immoral and said that it would set a wrong in the locality.

The irate mob then barged into the house and dragged the police officer along with his woman friend onto the road and thrashed them. The SHO’s uniform was torn in the process and thrown in a drain.

It is learnt that the wife and sister of the SHO were present on the spot. The duo were saved from the mob and the situation was brought under control after intervention by police personnel.

Jalandhar Police Commissioner,Gaurav Yadav,placed SHO Dharamvir under suspension and has initiated a departmental inquiry.
