The Jammu and Kashmir government has come up with an ambitious ropeway project to connect tourist spots Gogji Patheri and Neelnag with the famous hill resort of Usmarg in Budgam district.

“Far flung areas like Gogji Patheri and Neelnag would be developed as tourist places and these two places would be connected with Usmarg under ‘Gandola Project’,” Finance Minister Abdul Rahim Rather said while addressing a public meeting here.

He said Rs 16 crore would be spent on widening 20 kms of the Magam-Chadoora road and other developmental works in the area.

Rather said that the coalition government has already taken many challenging steps for the state’s development and people should fully cooperate for successful implementation of various welfare schemes.
