Louis Berger bribery case Minister who awarded contract should take responsibility: Gogoi

He said that the “concerned minister” who had awarded the contract to US firm Louis Berger for a water supply project in Guwahati should take responsibility for it.

Assam CM Tarun Gogoi Monday said that he would quit politics if there was any evidence of his alleged involvement in the bribery scam and said that the “concerned minister” who had awarded the contract to US firm Louis Berger for a water supply project in Guwahati should take responsibility for it.

Without naming Himanta Biswa Sarma, who was then Guwahati Development Minister, Gogoi said: “The then minister in charge of Guwahati development must take responsibility for it and so also the officers. I’m not saying that he (the minister) took bribes,” the Chief Minister said.
