Man arrested for assaulting daughter

A man was arrested here for allegedly assaulting his minor daughter with the intent to outrage her modesty in Muzaffarnagarat district,police said today.

Suresh Kumar allegedly assaulted his 17-year-old daughter in the absence of other family members at Alempur Village last evening,they said.

Police registered a case against the father and arrested him after the daughter accused him of assaulting her and attempted to rape her.

The accused was yesterday produced before a local court which remanded him to judicial custody.
