Nandi attack case: Accused granted bail

Mishra, the former Chaka block panchayat head, was in jail since May 3, 2010.

Dilip Mishra, a key accused in the attack on former BSP minister Nand Gopal Gupta “Nandi” in which The Indian Express reporter Vijay Pratap Singh and another person were killed on July 12, 2010, was released from Naini central jail on Friday after the Allahabad High Court granted him bail.

Mishra, the former Chaka block panchayat head, was in jail since May 3, 2010. His lawyer L K Dwivedi said, “The court which heard bail application took cognizance of it.”

Dwivedi said that among the 16 people chargesheeted in the case, five including Mishra and Samajwadi Party MLA Vijay Kumar Mishra are out on bail.
