One Assam Rifles jawan, 2 others succumb to injuries

The Assam Rifles jawan has been identified as Dattatary Mahajan (35), who hailed from Maharashtra.

Three persons, including one of the nine Assam Rifles personnel injured in IED blast in Arunachal Pradesh, succumbed to their injuries on Saturday.

According to a defence spokesperson, the jawan suffered critical injuries in the blast at Monmao village along Indo-Myanmar border on Friday.

The Assam Rifles jawan has been identified as Dattatary Mahajan (35), who hailed from Maharashtra.

The spokesperson also informed that two potters of the village, who were being treated, succumbed to their injuries.

At least nine Assam Rifles personnel were injured when an improvised explosive device planted on the road in the remote village in Changlang district went off when the security men were on routine patrol duty.
