Parties criticise ‘brute force’ on Baramulla agitators

using “brute force” against the agitating people,resulting in

the death of two persons and injuries to scores in Baramulla,

55 kms from here in north Kashmir yesterday.

“I condemn the attitude of the forces who opened fire at the slightest public reaction to certain happenings”,JKPCC Chief Saifuddin Soz said in a statement.

J&K Awam National Conference (JKANC),headed by Begum Khalida Shah also expressed dismay and sorrow over the recent incidents at Baramulla.

In a statement,Khalida castigated the administration for using “brute force” to quell the peaceful protesters and termed the daily killings and human rights violations as a day

to day routine.

She demanded that the vicious circle of violence be stopped immediately and the perpetrators be booked.

Khalida said the present situation is a blatant evidence of administrative failure as the government hasfailed to address this continuous sequence of violations.

“Of late we have witnessed (incidents at) Shopian,Soura,Anantnag and Baramulla. This all is a deliberate attempt to crush our basic human rights and perpetrate

atrocities to keep the state disturbed”,she alleged.
