The post-Assembly polls reality in UP has been all about SP men unleashing vendetta politics in the state by targetting Mayawati's partymen and anyone they think has allegiance to BSP. Now,the scene has changed a little. Two factions of the Akhilesh Yadav-led Samajwadi Party clashed with each other in Shamli town in Prabhudhnagar district,leaving several injured,police said here today. The incident took place when party members met yesterday to discuss the SP's defeat in Prabudhnagar in the recently held Assembly polls,police said. The two groups,one supporting former minister Virender Singh and the other former MP Amir Alem Khan,faced off in a verbal duel which soon escalated into full blown clashes. Police rushed to the spot to bring the situation under control,said officials,adding a case has been registered against three party activists in this connection. Goonda raj: SP workers storm police station,free partymen On 03/04/2012: Samajwadi Party (SP) workers on Saturday night stormed the Meja police station in the district and set free two party supporters from the lock-up. While the attackers were yet to be arrested,the Station Officer (SO),along with two other policemen,has been transferred with immediate effect. A case was registered against the SO and the other policemen,allegedly for beating up men in custody. Another case was registered against the assailants for obstructing the police in discharge of their duty and damaging government property. SP (Trans-Yamuna) Sarvesh Kumar Rana said Ajay Shukla,a head constable in the Railway Protection Force,and his brother Vijay Shukla,residents of Hulka village in Meja,were getting a kutcha house,which they had bought from one Raja Shukla,levelled on Saturday evening,when their uncle Rajesh Shukla arrived and objected. Ajay and Vijay are known to be SP supporters in the area. An argument ensued leading to violence as more persons from both sides joined. SO (Meja) Ram Chandra Dikshit and Sub-Inspector Adya Prasad Pandey reached the village to sort out the matter,the police said. When the two groups did not pay heed,the police took five persons from both the groups,including Ajay and Vijay,in their custody and brought them to the police station. Around midnight,one Lallan Singh,a local SP leader,along with some supporters,reached the police station and demanded release of the brothers. He also alleged that they were being beaten up by the police. After creating ruckus in the police station,the protesters snatched the keys to the lock-up from the police personnel and got their associates freed. 'Goondaraj' not over: Boy killed in SP celebratory firing,scribes attacked On 03/06/2012: A young boy was killed today during celebratory firing,allegedly by Samajwadi supporters,after a party candidate's victory in Sambhal while workers from the same party clashed with several TV cameramen in Jhansi during which their equipment was broken. Police said the 12-year-old boy,identified as Danish,died after being hit by a bullet during celebratory firing allegedly by supporters of SP candidate from Sambhal Iqbal Mahmood. Sambhal is about 350 km from here. Superintendent of Police D K Garg said necessary action was being taken. Reports reaching here from Jhansi,about 300 km from here,said supporters of the SP clashed with some TV cameramen during which some of their equipment were broken. A complaint in this regard has been registered with the district administration,sources said. Meanwhile,counting for the Babina Assembly seat in Jhansi had to be stopped after the seal of 17 EVMs were found broken. Official sources said counting was stopped in the evening following objections from SP candidate Chandrapal Singh Yadav. Sources said further directives have been sought from the Election Commission. District magistrate Anil Garg confirmed the counting had been suspended.
