Congress today downplayed the remarks of Sonia Gandhi’s son-in-law Robert Vadra that he can win an election from anywhere in the country and was undergreat pressure to contest from Sultanpur in Uttar Pradesh.

“Every individual in a democracy has a right to articulate his view point,” party spokesman Manish Tewari told reporters when asked about the remarks of Priyanka Gandhi’s husband in an interview.

He spoke in similar vein when asked whether Vadra was a special person for Congress.

In the interview,41-year old Vadra had said that he would join politics only when he felt he could make a difference.
