Indore to create record by planting 51 lakh trees

Indore is gearing up to set a world record by planting 51 lakh trees in the city along with 11 lakh trees at Revati Range, in just 24 hours.

Madhya Pradesh’s Urban Development Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya said the city is poised to break the record, previously held by Assam, on July 14.

“Our Prime Minister Narendra Modi has taken a resolution of planting 140 crore trees. We will plant 51 lakh trees every year, and in the coming five years, we will make Indore green with 2.5 crore trees. The plants will be monitored for 15 to 20 days, the dead plants will be replaced with the new ones,” he said.
