6 Rajasthan MLAs given month’s time to reply on change of party

Counsel of the MLAs appeared before the Speaker Deependra Singh Shekhawat and sought time to submit reply.

Six members of the Rajasthan Assembly who joined the ruling Congress from BSP in April have been given over one month time by the Speaker to submit their reply on the issue of changing the party which was challenged by the BSP.

Counsel of the MLAs appeared before the Speaker Deependra Singh Shekhawat and sought time to submit reply. The Speaker gave them over a month’s time and the next hearing in the matter will be on January 7,2011,Assembly sources said.

“All the six BSP MLAs of Rajasthan Vidhan Sabha had changed their party from BSP to Congress in April this year which was unconstitutional because merger of a national party is not possible without consent of party’s national president and in this case,it was done by the MLAs without permission of our national president,” Rajasthan BSP president Bhagwan Singh said.
