BJP leader L K Advani said on Tuesday that the NDA,if voted to power, would bring back black money of over Rs 25,000 lakh crore stashed in Swiss banks to be used for development in the country. Each of the six lakh villages in the country for instance would get a share of Rs four crore if the money, deposited by Indians, including politicians,is retrieved, the former deputy Prime Minister said at an election rally in Orissa. He claimed that inflation, corruption and poverty had sky-rocketed during UPA rule. "Congress-led UPA government broke many records as inflation, corruption and poverty touched new heights. Driven by poverty, many are committing suicide as poor farmers are being neglected," the party's prime ministerial candidate said. Mounting a scathing attack on the UPA,Advani said not only indebted farmers, but also people from other spheres are now committing suicide as they are hit hard by poverty and rising prices of essential commodities due to faulty policies. Dismissing any likelihood of a Third Front coming to power after the polls,Advani said the country had a bipolar political configuration with BJP and Congress playing major role along with their partners. In his first election rally in Orissa,Advani said that the NDA would bring a scheme to prevent suicide by farmers and others and free them from the debt trap. He also held the UPA government responsible for the worsening internal security scenario and heightened threat from overseas. The Congress not only failed to govern properly, but was also unable to keep its alliance partners in tact,Advani said. He claimed once considered as a party confined to north India,BJP had spread its influence across the country with active support of the masses because of its people-oriented policies and strong leadership.
