‘Akali Dal rules Punjab in the garb of religion’

"SGPC elections were a drama and a mockery with the Sikh masses," Rajinder Kaur

A senior Punjab Congress leader today alleged the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) of ruling the state in the “garb of religion by exploiting Sikh masses”.

Leader of Opposition in the State Assembly Rajinder Kaur Bhattal today alleged the Akali Dal of having two constitutions, one for political motive and other for capturing Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee.

She alleged the leaders of cancelling votes of a number of Sehajdhari Sikh (those with trimmed hair but observe the tenants of holy book) electorates in the forthcoming SGPC polls and ruling the state in the “garb of religion by exploiting Sikh masses”.

“The SGPC elections were a drama and a mockery with the Sikh masses,” she further said.
