Lashing out at ministers who undertake foreign trips,MNS chief Raj Thackeray today asked party men not to allow such politicians to enter their districts.
Referring to the sweltering heat nowadays,Raj said,”Soon, their (ministers) foreign trips will begin… for change of air. Implement zilla bandi (district ban) for those ministers who go abroad, when state is reeling under drought,” Raj said.
He was addressing a convention of party men at suburban Matunga here.
“Why organise these so-called study tours abroad during May? Everybody goes free,to enjoy,” Raj said.
The MNS chief said he had instructed party leader in Legislative Assembly not to send any MNS MLA for such study tours.
Ridiculing the general awareness of some of those who go on such foreign junkets,Raj narrated an incident where someone asked him his opinion of a work of art. “They call Mona Lisa as Mussolini. What kind of study trips are these ?” Raj asked.
Raj also asked MNS legislators to tour drought-hit areas in the state.
On the recent spurt in incidents of forest fires and poaching,Raj said,”MNS workers should teach a lesson to those who burn forests.”
